Loose medium component separated from raw coal by all group components separation method was used to prepare carbon foam by pressing, foaming and carbonizing. Then, using carbon foam?CF?as catalyst carrier and tetrabutyl titanate as titanium source,TiO2/CF photocatalyst was prepared by hydrothermal method and sol-gel method, respectively. The effects of different preparation method on the pore structure of the catalysts and their photocatalytic degradation of phenol in wastewater were investigated. The results showed that the TiO2 crystal of the catalyst samples prepared by different methods was anatase phase and successfully loaded onto the carbon foam.Titanium dioxide photocatalyst prepared by hydrothermal method had higher photocatalytic activity, mainly because the catalyst had higher specific surface area and larger pore volume, which improved the dispersion of titanium dioxide on the surface of the carrier, and thus improved the photocatalytic activity of the catalyst.Afterwards, the effects of hydrothermal temperature, hydrothermal time and TiO2loading on pore structure and photocatalytic performance of TiO2/CF photocatalyst prepared by hydrothermal method were investigated.Hydrothermal temperature and hydrothermal time had certain effects on the pore structure of TiO2/CF catalyst, the crystallinity of titanium dioxide and photocatalytic activity. The increase of hydrothermal temperature and hydrothermal time resulted in the increase of the crystallinity of the catalyst. When the hydrothermal temperature was 180 oC and the hydrothermal time was 24 h,the prepared catalyst had a large specific surface area and medium pore volume.Under the irradiation of simulated sunlight with the light intensity of 700.0 klux, the degradation rate of phenol solution on the catalyst reached77%.The loading amount of TiO2 also had a certain influence on the photocatalytic activity of TiO2/CF catalyst. When the preparation conditions were 1.5 ml tetrabutyl titanate and 0.7 g foamed carbon, the photocatalytic activity of the catalyst was the best.In order to improve the adsorption performance of photocatalyst, activated carbon foam?ACF?was prepared by KOH activation.TiO2/ACF photocatalyst was prepared by sol-gel method, and the effects of calcining temperature and titanium dioxide loading on the pore structure and photocatalytic performance of photocatalyst were investigated. When the calcination temperature was 450 oC,the amount of sol used was 17.6 ml,the phenol removal rate reached 90.6%,and the photocatalytic degradation rate constant was 0.00520 min-1,one to two times higher than other catalysts. The increase of calcination temperature and titanium dioxide loading increased the particle size of titanium dioxide and blocked part of the pores of the catalyst, thus affecting the adsorption performance and photocatalytic activity.
