Isotactic polybutene-1(i PB)is a semicrystalline polymer having a polymorphic form.It is widely used due to its slow crystal form transition, long period of stable product, and the like. Moreover,in recent years,in order to protect the environment,it is urgent to develop a novel polybutene composite material which is excellent in performance and has certain biodegradability. In this paper, the fiber material with high modulus, excellent mechanical properties, low cost, renewable and biodegradable, microcrystalline cellulose(MCC),is modified by isotactic polybutene-1 crystal form, and a series of studies have been carried out on the properties of isotactic polybutene-1/microcrystalline cellulose(i PB/MCC)composites.Firstly,the compatibilizer maleic anhydride grafted polybutene(MAPB)was prepared for the interfacial compatibility problem between polar microcrystalline cellulose and non-polar isotactic polybutene-1.The reaction conditions of the maximum grafting ratio of compatibilizer are: 9% maleic anhydride,4% benzoyl peroxide initiator, reaction temperature 130 °C,reaction time 3 h.The grafting rate of MAPB was the highest under this condition, which was 3.05%.Secondly,different ratios of i PB/MCC composites were prepared by using twin-screw extruder and injection molding machine.M-i PB/MCC modified composites were prepared by adding compatibilizer MAPB during material preparation. The mechanical test results show that the addition of MCC and the addition of compatibilizer MAPB contribute greatly to the improvement of the mechanical properties of the composite. The specific performance is as follows: Compared with pure i PB,the addition of MCC makes the stretching of i PB/MCC composites.Modulus, flexural strength and flexural modulus increased by 26%,1.53%,and 18.4%,respectively.After adding compatibilizer MABP,these values increased by 31.8%,5.3%,and 20.9%,respectively.Finally,the crystallization behavior of composites shows that the addition of microcrystalline cellulose can promote the crystallization of isotactic polybutene-1,which is manifested by the non-isothermal crystallization curve of the sample moving toward the high temperature. The Avrami and Ozawa models simulate better non-isothermal crystallization processes of composites.
