Low Power Wide Area Network(LPWAN)is a technology in Internet of Things(IoT),a technology of the network layer.It is oriented to the application nodes,in a wide transmission range,with few information.It has also the advantages of low cost and low power consumption,which lays a foundation for the large-scale development of the Internet of Things.Nowadays,in the low-power wide-area network,technologies such as LoRa,SigFox,and NB-IoT are becoming more and more important in the field of professional communication.This article analyzes the current mainstream technologies of low-power wide-area network,through an internship project at Nantes,France.It studies the communication protocols and parameters of LoRa technology,and finally I embeded LoRa in a traditional electronic lock.The main work of this article includes:1.Low-power wide-area Internet of Things mainstream technology: Analyze the mainstream technologies of low-power wide-area network(LPWAN).Comparison of the technical principles,communication parameters and module prices.This article also compares LoRa with other technologies,indicating the reasons why we choose LoRa in this projet.2.Test of LoRa evaluation boards: Test on two LoRa development boards Dev Kit Lora STM32L072 and ST Micro Nucleo-L476 RG,and the LoRa Micro HF experiment board produced by my internship company,of the actual data rate and communication distance in the building.The test compares and analyzes the parameters of LoRa evaluation boards and the improvement of the company’s LoRa module.3.LoRa electronic lock development: Use SEMTECH’s newly released SX1262 LoRa chip in April 2018,to realize the LoRa communication of the electronic lock,named Pollux.The electronic lock node can communicate with the remote LoRa gateway through LoRa,sending the information according to the company’s protocol.This article also evaluates and analyzes the LoRa communication parameters,power consumption and battery life of this electronic lock,and proposes some improvement ways for the future development in terms of hardware and software.
