This subject comes from the environmental protection science and technology project declared by Guangdong H Paint Company. This project aims to design and optimize the formulation of a water-borne UV matte finish by DOE technology.Water-borne UV paint is a strategic product planned to be promoted by H Paint Company.Because of its high efficiency, environmental protection,non-toxicity and harmlessness,it is the main "oil-to-water" product in furniture industry.it is one of the main ways of "oil to water" in furniture industry. The market potential is huge. This paper mainly studies the application of DOE method in the formulation design and optimization of water-borne UV paint.Based on the analysis of the factors affecting the performance of water-borne UV paint in single factor experiment, the effect of each significant factor is studied by using DOE full factor design, and an effective model is established. The model of each significant factor is obtained by analyzing and predicting the plotter curve. The results show that the DOE method can establish an effective model based on fewer experimental results, predict the best experimental scheme and the optimal results, and achieve the expected goal through the experimental test of the mixture formula predicted by the model. In this paper,DOE method is used to design and optimize the formulation of waterborne UV coatings.Compared with traditional research and development methods, this method shortens the research and development cycle, reduces personnel investment, and improves the efficiency by at least 50%.At the same time,it greatly improves the reliability of the test. The mixture model based on DOE method has reliability and predictability. The results proved to be of practical significance, and laid a theoretical and practical foundation for further optimization of paint formulation.
