Metaflumizone belongs to semicarbazone compound,and bear a novel structure and action mechanism which conventional pesticides do not have.Therefore,Metaflumizone is distinct safety to non-target object,and do not produce cross-resistance with conventional pesticides,of course possessing attractive prospects.In this paper,available methods for the synthesis of Metaflumizone were reviewed,this paper was synthesized by a route suitable for industrial production.In this research work,(Trifluoromethoxy)benzene was used as starting material,and 1-amino-3-[4-(trifluoromethoxy)phenyl]urea was obtained after the process of nitrification by the mixed acid,reduction,N-acylation,and Hydrazinolysis step of the reaction;Another intermediates using 3(Trifluoromethyl)benzene as the raw material,Methyl 3-trifluoromethyl benzoate was obtained after Bromination and carbonyl esterification.Then 4-[2-oxo-2-[3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]ethyl]benzonitrile was synthesized with the Nucleophilic substitution by Methyl 3-trifluoromethyl benzoate and P-methylbenzonitrile.At last,metaflumizone was obtained by condensation of 1-amino-3-[4-(trifluoromethoxy)phenyl]urea and 4-[2-oxo-2-[3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]ethyl]benzonitrile.The structures and purities of the desired products and the intermediates invloled have been characterized or detected by ~1H NMR,MS,GC and HPLC.And the influence factors on the yields and purity of the desired products,such as molar ratio of materials,catalyst,solvent,acid binding agent,temperature and reaction time,have been carefully examined here.Under the optimized processing conditions,the total yield of metaflumizone was71.2%(based on(Trifluoromethoxy)benzene)with a purity of 98.1%.Compared with the traditional process,the synthetic method here possesses a variety of advantages such as simplermanipulation,better product purity and being environmentally benign.It shows promising industrial application since it is suitable for scaling up with cheap available materials.
