The chiral metal-organic cages have become one of hot topics in the field of chemistry and materials, owing to their unique structures and potential applications in asymmetric catalysis, chiral recognition and separation, drug delivery, enantioselective fluorescent sensors and so on.Herein,pyridyl-functionalized organic linkers based on C2-symmetric TADDOL skeleton was synthesized and further utilized to build a series of chiral metal-TADDOL cages 1-6 of novel structures and unique functions with metal assembly,by using the method of coordination chemistry and supramolecular chemistry. The application of the chiral metal-TADDOL cages in Chiral recognition and separation was also explored. This thesis includes the following three chapters. In Chapter 1,the research background about the metal-TADDOL cages is briefly introduced, including their synthesis and applications in asymmetric catalysis, recognition and separation and fluorimetry sensors. Then the issues and challenges remained in this area were discussed. At last,an overview of the thesis topic and the research progress were presented. In Chapter 2,the C2-symmetric pyridine-functionalized chiral TADDOL ligand was prepared in several steps.then chiral ligand was utilized to assemble with Ni,Co,Pd under the different condition to afford a series of chiral metal-TADDOL cages 1-6.The as-synthesized cages were characterized by a variety of techniques, such as single crystal X-ray diffraction, high resolution mass spectrum,Infrared spectra,UV-Vis spectra, circular dichroism spectroscopy and so on.The fourteen Ni of chiral cage could be served as selective adsorption separation screw ring derivative compounds, the enantioselectivity is up to 91%.In Chapter 3,a briefly conclusion and outlook were given.
