At present,the main treatment methods for high-speed wire rods are lead bath cooling and Steyr air cooling.The advantages of lead bath cooling are high stomatization rate and stable process,but it has the disadvantages of high cost and serious pollution.Steyr The advantage of air cooling is that it has strong cooling capacity and wide adaptability.The disadvantages are uneven cooling and low Sorbite ratio.As people's performance requirements continue to improve,a new type of water bath cooling process has begun to be used,which not only overcomes the drawbacks of lead bath cooling and Steyr wind cooling,but also obtains a uniform fine soxite structure.It has the advantages of environmental protection,economy and high efficiency.However,it is rare to study the cooling characteristics of water bath cooling media using high-speed wire materials with the same material probes.Such research is of great significance for improving the quality of high-speed wire.In this paper,alkaline polyacrylic acid medium is used as the raw material of the water bath cooling medium,and diluted with distilled water to obtain different concentrations of water bath cooling medium.The LTC1200 cooling medium cooling characteristic tester is used to prepare a test probe with a typical high-speed wire 82 B high carbon steel.The system measures the cooling characteristics of the water bath cooling medium at different concentrations and temperatures;through different spinning temperatures and different outlet temperatures.The series of simulated water bath cooling experiments,as well as the comparison of the microstructure and performance of the experimental water bath cooling process parameters;on this basis,the optimization of the water bath cooling process was carried out by the simulated water bath cooling experiment of the typical steel 82 B high carbon steel wire rod,and the experiment was carried out.The sample performance of the room water bath cooling wire rod and the Steyr air cooled product were compared.The temperature-time curve obtained by the 82 B high carbon steel probe water bath cooling experiment shows that the stability of the vapor film of the water bath cooling medium increases with the increase of the medium temperature and the medium concentration,and the time of the vapor bath cooling medium vapor film stabilization phase The temperature of the medium and the concentration of themedium are prolonged,and the rupture temperature of the vapor film of the water bath cooling medium decreases as the medium temperature and the medium concentration increase.The optimum process parameters for the water cooling of 82 B high carbon steel probe are as follows: water bath cooling medium concentration is 12%,medium working temperature>95°C,spinning temperature 820°C-850°C,outlet water temperature 540°C-570°C,water bath time 48s-50 s This is the basis for the development of on-site water bath cooling production process parameters.Under the condition of medium concentration of 12% and medium temperature>95°C,a series of water bath cooling simulation experiments were carried out with a typical high-speed wire 82 B high carbon steel wire rod.The microscopy of the wire rod was analyzed by simulating the water bath cooling process at different spinning temperatures.The morphology of the tissue is determined to be in the range of 820°C to 850°C.Further comparison and analysis of the microstructure and properties of the 82 B high carbon steel wire rod after the series of experiments,the results show that the tensile strength of the wire rod at the spinning temperature of830°C is as high as 1217 MPa,the Sorbite ratio is 92.1%,from the structure and properties The best level is achieved,so the optimum bathing temperature for the water bath cooling process of 82 B high carbon steel wire rod is 830°C.Comparing the mechanical properties and microstructure of the 82 B high carbon steel product treated by the water bath cooling process and the Steyr air cooling process,the results show that the spinning temperature of the water bath cooling process is slightly lower than that of the air cooling process;The body layer is finer than the air-cooled product,and the Sorbite content is higher;the water-cooled 82 B high carbon steel product meets the mechanical properties of the air-cooled product and has the potential to further improve performance.
