Steam tube rotary dryer is one of the key equipments in PTA production equipment.Its performance and operation stability directly affect the final quality of PTA and other products.In order to make the whole plant run in a long period,this paper establishes some finite element models for the drum and support system of steam tube rotary dryer in PTA plant,which are prone to failure during operation.Through ANSYS numerical software,the relevant structural parameters of the support system are calculated and analyzed.According to the analysis results,the optimum parameters of the support system are given.The spacing between support systems and the similarity of the two reaction forces between tires have great influence on the drum deformation,bending stress,thick-walled drum and ring's stress.Based on the large steam tube rotary dryer of ?4500×32000 specifications(referred to as the base dryer),four simplified models of dryers with different spans and two simplified models of dryers with same spans but different support reaction force of tires to drum are established.The force of each model was calculated theoretically and numerically by finite element method.Based on the analysis results,the optimum parameters of spacing and supporting reaction force were given.The angle between the tire and roller's centeral line and the vertical line has an important influence on the stress distribution of the supporting system.Five finite element models of the supporting system with different ? diameters are established in this paper,and their numerical calculation and analysis are carried out.According to the analysis results,the optimal ? is given.Generally speaking,the working temperature of the steam tube rotary dryer is not high,so the thermal stress is not necessary to be considered in the structural design calculation and stress analysis of the whole dryer.But for the support system of the large steam tube rotary dryer,because of its large load bearing,complex structure and high dimensional accuracy requirements,especially the selection of tolerance coordination between the roller ring and the gasket plate,correct or not plays a decisive role in the stable operation of steam tube rotary dryer,so the thermal stress should be taken into account in the structural design and stress analysis of the support system.In this paper,three groups of different matches between rolling rings and gaskets are set up,and the thermal stress of the support system under the three matches is calculated and analyzed by ANSYS Thermo-Solid coupling calculation method.According to the analysis results,the optimum range of matching between rolling rings and gaskets is given.Finally,according to the calculation results,the fatigue life of the drum of the steam tube rotary dryer is checked.The results show that the steam tube rotary dryer has sufficient design life under the design conditions.The calculation results and analysis conclusions obtained in this paper have certain reference value for the design and structure optimization of the support system of steam tube rotary dryer.
