This research aims to investigate the factors impacting the buying decisions of French and Chinese consumers.The study focuses on two aspects,which are the natural cosmetics on one side and the country of origin of these products on the other.Nowadays,more and more consumers are sensible to the quality of their cosmetics goods.Increasing public health concern led consumers to think more about what they are purchasing and what they put on their skin.Instead of buying traditional cosmetics,which contain substances originating from petrochemicals,consumers became more predisposed toward purchasing natural cosmetics.In response to consumers' changing behaviors,manufacturing companies placed particular emphasis on developing natural cosmetics,containing less chemicals substances and more natural elements.The study looks at one specific factor in particular,which is the country of origin of these natural cosmetics.The prominence of the country of origin plays an important role in the purchasing decision of consumers,but this importance is still yet to be determined.French consumers were selected because of the importance of the French natural cosmetics market.Nowadays,French natural cosmetics brands are known worldwide and enjoy a great reputation in the global natural cosmetics market.Moreover,the French market of natural cosmetics is well developed and is strongly present in the mind of French consumers.Chinese consumers were also analyzed because of the increasing market of Chinese cosmetics.More and more Chinese brands are launching their own natural cosmetic products in order to attract customers.The purpose of the study is to shed light on the contrast that can exist between French and Chinese consumers',purchase behavior and the country of origin's image.The research endeavors to highlight the importance of the country of production of natural cosmetics manufacturers compared to four other major criteria.Then the paper aims to compare the place of the country of origin factor for French and Chinese consumers.In order to test the hypotheses developed in the next parts,a questionnaire survey was conducted among French and Chinese consumers.Sample respondent were drawn from maleand female customers residing in France and China.The questionnaire contained issues that provided answers to:· Assess the importance of the country of origin of natural cosmetics in comparison with four other maj or criteria selected,· Compare the importance of the country of origin in the eyes of French and Chinese consumers.The results of the study are described in the fourth part of the research,where the data obtained is analyzed and the hypotheses are supported or rej ected.
