Isolation of antiviral compounds from secondary metabolites of endophytic fungi is an effective way to study natural antiviral agents. In this paper, monomer compounds were isolated from metabolites of Alternaria alternata by routine chromatography.Their structures were identified by NMR spectra.Their anti-tobacco mosaic virus?TMV?activities were tested by half-leaf blight and leaf disc methods. The results are summarized as follows:The liquid fermentation of endophytic fungus Alternaria alternata AL14 obtained from Ailanthus altissima was carried out.Fifteen compoundswere isolated from secondary metabolites by routine chromatography. The structures of these compounds were identified by NMR spectra(1H NMR,13C NMR,DEPT,1H-1H COSY,HSQC,HMBC,NOESY,etc.).The names of 15 compounds are TeA-1?1?,TeA-2?2?,tricycloalternarene 2a?3?,tricycloalternarene 2b?4?,tricycloalternarene3b?5?,tricycloalternarene 9a?6?,alternariol 9-methyl ether?7?,3?,5?,6?-trihydroxy-?22E,24R?-ergosta-7,22-diene?8?,3?,5?,6?-trihydroxy-?22E,24R?-ergosta-7,22-diene?9?,3?,5?-dihydroxy-6?-methoxy-?22E,24R?-ergosta-7,22-diene?10?,4-hydroxy phenethyl alcohol?11?,uracil?12?,methyl-?-D-glucopyranoside&methyl-?-D-glucopyranoside?13?,mannitol?14?,2-hydroxy-3-methylvaleric acid?15?.The anti-TMV activities of 15 compounds were tested by half leaf blight and leaf disc methods. The results showed that TeA-1?1?had good anti-TMV proliferation activity. The inhibition rate was 96.8%at 100?g/mL and the IC50 value was 15.5?g/mL.None of the other compounds showed significant inhibitory activity. These results indicate that TeA-1 has a good inhibitory activity against TMV and can be further studied as a potential natural antiviral lead compound.
