Basalt fiber is a new type of fiber developed in recent years.It has good performance and low price.It is used in the field of composite materials such as concrete,resin,wood plastic and so on.It has excellent performance.These excellent properties are also needed for non-asbestos gaskets.Therefore,the basalt fiber was introduced into the formulation of the asbestos-free gasket to study its use value.In this paper,three factors of basalt fiber,QY composite cotton fiber and paper fiber are selected.The effect of three kinds of fiber on the performance of non-asbestos gaskets was studied by L9?34?orthogonal test program.As a result,a suitable amount of several fibers was obtained.In addition,different concentrations of KH550 silane coupling agent were used to modify the surface of basalt fiber,and the non-asbestos gasket was prepared.One-way ANOVA was used to analyze the effects of different concentrations of KH550 treated fibers on the properties of composites.The physical and chemical changes of basalt fiber before and after modification were studied by scanning electron microscopy?SEM?and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy?FTIR?.What's more,the change in element between fiber modification and no modification was analyzed by EDS.The elements and compound compositions of basalt fiber reinforced non-asbestos gaskets were analyzed by EDS and XRD.Through the above research,the following conclusions are drawn:?1?The amount of QY composite cotton fiber has a significant effect on the compressibility and rebound rate of the gasket,which has a certain influence on the tensile strength,and has no significant effect on the aging coefficient and density.The amount of basalt fiber on the tensile strength and aging coefficient has a significant effect,which has a certain influence on the rebound rate and compression ratio,and has no significant effect on the density.The amount of paper fiber has no significant influence on the compressibility,rebound rate,tensile strength,and aging coefficient density.A suitable amount of several fibers is:QY composite cotton fiber 28%,basalt fiber 5%,paper fiber 10%.?2?Treatment of basalt fiber with different concentrations of KH550 silane coupling agent has a significant effect on the rebound rate and tensile strength of the non-asbestos gasket,and has no significant effect on the compression ratio,density and oil resistance.When the KH550 concentration is 0.75%,the hydrolyzed group of the silane coupling agent forms a Si-O-Si bond with the chemical group on the surface of the fiber,and the non-hydrolyzed group is combined with the filler and the latex in the gasket.The silane coupling agent is grafted on the surface of the fiber,so that the bonding effect of the fiber with the filler and the latex is enhanced,and the performance of the non-asbestos gasket is better.
