Titanium?Ti?and its alloys have been widely used in chemical industry,shipping,biomedicine and especially aerospace after their appearance because of their high specific strength,low density and excellent corrosion resistance.Ti-6Al-4V?TC4?alloy has excellent mechanical properties and has been successfully applied to commercial production.Zirconium?Zr?and Ti belong to the same group?IVB?,and they have similar physical and chemical properties.New Ti-Zr-Al-V series alloys has been successfully developed by replacing part of Ti in TC4 alloy with Zr.Based on 20Zr-Ti-6Al-4V alloy with 20%Zr element,it was studied for the effects of MAX phase?Ti3AlC2?content and heat treatment process on the microstructures and mechanical properties of 20Zr-Ti-6Al-4V alloys,respectively.The Ti-20Zr-6Al-4V-xTi3AlC2 alloys are smelted by using vacuum non-consumable electro-arc furnace.Apart from investigating the as-cast structure and compressive properties,the as-rolled alloys were also rolled at 950?to study the microstructures and mechanical properties of the as-rolled alloys.The results show that all the alloys were composed of?and?phase.Besides,with the increase of the content of MAX?Ti3AlC2?phase,Ti3AlC2 and TiC phases appeared in the alloys and increased accordingly.As-cast compressive properties increase with the increase of Ti3AlC2,and the maximum compressive strength of 2019.1MPa in the sample with the maximum addition?10 wt%?.After rolling at 950?and due to fine grain strengthening and interaction between strengthening phases and the matrix,Ti-20Zr-6Al-4V-1Ti3AlC2 exhibits better mechanical property??b?1145 MPa,?f?7.39%,428.06HV?than Ti-20Zr-6Al-4V??b?1073.79 MPa,?f?6.61%,416.37HV?.The highest ultimate tensile strength??b?1204.09MPa,?f?4.00%,447.71HV?has been achieved in Ti-20Zr-6Al-4V-2Ti3AlC2.The mechanical properties of Ti-20Zr-6Al-4V-2Ti3AlC2 alloys under different heat treatment conditions were studied.The results showed that the ultimate tensile strength of the alloy under 850?,950?and 1000?for 1 hour followed by water quenching increased to?b?1244.47 MPa,?b?1404.78MPa,?b?1250.64 MPa,respectively.Based on considering the comprehensive properties of the alloy,the alloys by 850?for 1 hour followed by water quenching possesses outstanding mechanical properties??b?1244.47MPa,?f?7.57%?. |
