Powdered activated carbon is widely used in the field of adsorption and liquid phase refining.The annual production of solid waste amounts to several hundred thousand tons,which causes not only large environmental pollution,but also a large amount of waste of resources.There is big security hazard and environmental protection problem in the direct thermal regeneration of powdered carbon.The utilization of the carbon resource to prepare the shaped activated carbon,has the characteristics of simple process,high added value of the shaped carbon,and have good economic benefits and application prospects.In this paper,the effects of process conditions on the mechanical strength of shaped carbon produced by powdered waste carbon were investigated.The parameters of shaped carbon on the carbon-based non-metallic mercury-free catalyst for acetylene hydrochlorination and the supported ruthenium catalyst in furfural hydrochlorination were studied,have mainly achieved the following results:?1?Powdered carbon added with a certain amount of binder can form high-strength shaped carbon by extruder.The mechanical strength of the shaped carbon is positively related to the shaped pressure and the amount of the binder.The mechanical strength of the shaped carbon which used binder A or binder B as binder is superior to commercial columnar carbon,and the pore structure of the shaped carbon can be maintained after shaped,which has a good industrialization prospect.?2?The shaped carbon prepared by the waste carbon regeneration,as a carbon-based mercury-free catalyst,has excellent acetylene hydrochlorination performance.The catalytic performance in acetylene hydrochlorination is related to nitrogen loadings of carbon materials.The higher the nitrogen content,the better the activity.The shaped carbon loaded ultra-low mercury catalyst can achieve a conversion of acetylene of 27%at 180 oC,1000 h-1,which basically reaches the performance of the coal columnar carbon used as a carrier to support the ultra-low mercury.?3?The mesoporous carbon material with good mechanical strength can be obtained by compounding powdered waste carbon and wheat flour.As a carbon-based non-metal catalyst,it has excellent performance of acetylene hydrochlorination at30 h-1,220 oC,acetylene conversion can reach 75%.The composite mesoporous carbon material prepared with calcium cyanamide and wheat flour can directly be used as catalyst of the hydrogenation of furfural,and it can be used as a carrier-supported 5%ruthenium with excellent furfural hydrogenation performance.The conversion of furfural can be reached 97%,under mild conditions of 140? and2 MPa for 15 h.
