A Study On The Impact Of Environmental Non-Governmental Organizations On Corporate Environmental Responsibility

Establishing the ideology of environmental protection,persisting in the energy conservation and emission reduction,as well as promoting the reform of the ecological civilization system to achieve sustainable development are the only options for the current economy of China.Company,as the main bearer of the social production and services,have a significant impact on the environment through its activities.So,the only way to the ultimate ‘Beautiful China’ is strengthening the corporate environmental responsibility,reducing the harm of corporate activities to the environment,increasing the investment in environmental protection resource-saving production and services.For most companies in China,improving corporate environmental responsibility means capital investment and unpredictable returns.Companies want to maximize their profitability and return on investment while avoiding risks.Because environmental protection expenditures cannot bring significant results.As one of the main bodies of the economy,the government guides and supervises the behavior of corporate behavior through macroeconomic regulation and legal regulations.However,‘market failures’ and ‘government failures’ existing under China’s socialist market economic system make the ‘visible hand’ and ‘invisible hand’ fail to fully promote corporate environmental responsibility.Therefore,the search for other external forces to improve the status of corporate environmental responsibility has become and important issue in building ecological civilization.This study focuses on the analysis of the impact of environmental non-governmental organizations on corporate environmental responsibility.The research ideas are mainly divided into four steps.The first step in to conduct a review of the concepts and related reaches on environmental non-governmental organizations,corporate environmental responsibility and evaluation systems.Then,the second step proposes the model methods and assumptions of the study on the basis of previous studies of related impact relationships.Besides,this step also determines the variables used by the research and the source of the data.The third step analyzes and tests the relationship among the environmental nongovernmental organizations,other hypothetical variables,and corporate environmental responsibility.This part will make assumptions about the differences.The final step is to try to analyze and discuss the research results and explore the future trends of the research.The results of the research show that environmental non-governmental organizations have a significant positive effect on corporate environmental responsibility.It mainly performs that when the number of environmental non-governmental organizations in a certain range is more,the disclosure of environmental information of enterprises is better.This means that in strengthening corporate environmental responsibility,environmental nongovernmental organizations can be used to achieve better results.At the same time,in the study of other hypothesis about corporate finance,management indicators and corporate environmental responsibility,it was found that the capital size and ownership concentration of a company will have a positive impact on corporate environmental responsibility.The significant differences between industries have a significant impact on corporate environmental responsibility are also proved in the analysis.In addition,the study also found that neither the number of environmental non-governmental organizations nor the level of environmental responsibility of domestic listed companies are not sufficient.The improvement of these two aspects is still important topics for the development of circular economy and the construction of ecological civilization in the future.The ideas and results of this study play important guiding and promoting roles for the future research on corporate activities,environmental non-governmental organizations,and corporate environmental responsibility.The research of environmental non-governmental organizations has also played a role in strengthening public relations with the government and enterprises.It will definitely provide a theory basis for promoting the establishment and development of environmental non-governmental organizations in China.Not only that,the research means a lot to solve the environmental problems about the distribution of responsibilities among the government,environmental non-government organizations and the enterprises.Moreover,it will effectively improve the quality of supervision and management on the corporate.This study will play a constructive role in the formulation of laws and regulations which can force the corporate with better performance on the corporate environmental responsibility in the future.
