Ultra-high speed grinding technology has the characteristics of high efficiency and high precision.It is widely used in the field of mechanical processing,but the theory of ultra-high speed grinding is different from traditional grinding theory.Single abrasive cutting is a kind of simplified process of grinding.It is a common method to investigate complex grinding mechanism.In view of the difficulty of single abrasive cutting,the single grain cutting process simulation is completed using the finite element software,which will help to study the single grain cutting mechanism.The investigations of cutting mechanism provide the technical means and theoretical basis for the engineering application of ultra-high speed grinding process.In this paper,based on the finite element analysis method,single abrasive cutting process of 45 steel is simulated.The high speed grinding experiment with single abrasive is carried.The main works are as follows:1.The simplified model of single abrasive ball top cone is analyzed.The elastic scratch,ploughing and chip formation stages of single abrasive grinding workpiece(?)are studied,and the material deformation characteristics in the process of abrasive cutting are analyzed.The first grinding contact arc length of single abrasive and the basic theoretical formula of contact arc length of grinding trace are established.The formula of grinding force for single abrasive particle are studied by the cutting deformation force and friction force.2.The material of 45 steel model is established,and the constitutive equation and fracture criterion of 45 steel are analyzed.At the same time,the single grain cutting simulation geometric model is established,and the single grain cutting simulation test preparation work is completed,such as material properties,contact relationship,load and boundary condition definition and unit division.3.With different cutting speed,cutting depth and rake angle,the cutting stress and plastic deformation of work piece are analyzed.The influences of different grinding process parameters on the work piece plastic deformation and cutting stress are investigated.4.The experiment of single abrasive grinding 45 steel with different grinding parameters is completed.The influence of grinding parameters on grinding force is studied,and the surface morphology characteristics of grinding grooves are analyzed.The grinding force decreases with the increase of grinding wheel linear velocity,and increases with the increase of grinding depth and absolute value of negative rake angle.At the cut-in and cut-out parts of the groove,the single abrasive grinding groove morphology of is characterized by narrow,while the middle section is width uniform.The main reason for the formation of micro-scratches on the grinding surface is the micro-cutting edge of the abrasive surface.
