Supramolecular chemistry has profoundly affected the field of polymer chemistry and chemistry,so the application of functional material design has received great attention.High water content hydrogels formed by crosslinked polymer networks are widely found in nature,and a variety of supramolecular hydrogels have been synthesized and successfully used in kinds of fields.Biomedical applications usually require appropriate mechanical strength and self-healing,as well as biocompatible materials.So far,efforts to develop bio-based hydrogels have focused on the synthesis of novel supramolecular hydrogels using non-covalent interactions using natural compounds.(1)We designed and synthesized a novel type of high-strength supramolecular polymer hydrogel.Firstly,a complex of an unsaturated double bond is used as a water-soluble macro-crosslinker by host-guest interaction between ?-cyclodextrin and glycyrrhetinic acid,then supramolecular hydrogel was prepared by a simple UV curing technique.The swelling performance test and the morphology of the supramolecular hydrogel indicating that the host-guest complex enhanced the crosslinking,that is,as the concentration of the host-guest complex increased,and the cross-linking sites of the hydrogel network increase,so the cross-linking effect increases as well as the porosity increases.The rheological behavior investigated by a rotary rheometer shows that the hydrogel has good viscoelasticity and self-healing characteristics under certain strain.Hydrogel compression test results demonstrate that such hydrogels are able to withstand strain and are recoverable.More importantly,the hydrogel has a tensile elongation at break of more than 400%,demonstrating that these hydrogels have good toughness.The high-strength hydrogel designed and synthesized can be used as a biological scaffold,a drug release carrier,and in tissue engineering.(2)In this part,we intend to use a cyclodextrin modified copolymer to obtain a water-soluble polymer as a skeleton,and synthesize a glycyrrhetinic acid dimer as a crosslinking agent.Based on host-guest interaction between ?-cyclodextrin and glycyrrhetinic acid,a supramolecular hydrogel with self-healing properties was obtained.These hydrogels not only have good biocompatibility,but also respond to environmental changes.This is conducive to broadening the research of hydrogel in the fields of biosensing,drug release,etc.
