Casting coating is one of the most essential parts in modern casting process.This subject studies on the connection between particle size and coating property,the range changes from 200 mesh to 340 mesh.First,the effects of the amount of suspending agent,binder,and carrier liquid on the viscosity,suspend ability,density,PH value,flow property,coating property,strength,dripping,and air permeability of the coating were studied.Then the influence of particle size on the performance of coatings is obtained through a single variable experiment.Finally,the optimal combination of particle size and collocation was obtained by orthogonal test results and range analysis method.And the group was subjected to a lost foam casting verification test to obtain a casting part with excellent surface.The results show that the coating has excellent performance and can be used in actual production.(1)When quartz powder is used as aggregate,the other components and their added amounts are: sodium-based bentonite 5%,CMC5%,water glass 5%,starch 4%,and carrier water 80%,the coating property is excellent.(2)When the addition amount of each component is constant,the particle size of the aggregate is a single variable as well,it is found that as the particle size of the coating decreases,the strength of the coating increases,the density decreases,the viscosity increases,and the coating property is almost unchanged.flow properties remain stable,the dripping characteristics become larger,the suspension characteristics fluctuate,the air permeability decreases,and the PH value increases.(3)Using four factors and four levels of orthogonal test,and using range analysis method to calculate and judge the data,the composition of refractory aggregate is 240 mesh 80%,270 mesh 80%,300 mesh 80%,320 mesh 20%,the performance of the coating at this time reaches the best.(4)The actual pouring experiment with the best particle size group found that the quality of the casting parts was well protected during the entire pouring and cooling process,which met the requirements for coating use.
