Metastable amorphous alloy is popular in soft magnetic property for its characteristic of order in long range but disorder in short range,as a new material,it has a broader range of applying in power electronics industry.Amorphous ribbon forming machine as a core equipment of producing amorphous ribbon material,can process from raw material to finished strip at one time in a row.It is a real green production equipment.This paper presents a newly designed amorphous ribbon forming machine with melting furnace underlying,and some key issue will be discussed,the result is meaningful for improving the quality of amorphous ribbon product.In the design part,some analysis and explain will be presented on the key parts such as nozzles,crucibles,smelting equipment and water-cooled copper rollers.An innovated one-piece nozzle cup will be used in the machine,a high quality aluminum crucibles will also be used to improve the lifetime of crucibles.A quick change water-cooled copper rollers structure will be used in the design.Besides,the core part of the equipment will be analyzed and simulated to get the characteristic of the main shaft.During the research of key technique,the relation of melting furnace leakage and roller-nozzle distance will be further discussed.The complexity and randomness of the leakage will be analyzed by indirect measuring the chamber pressure,and feedback to the system,which is called quasi-closed loop control scheme.A laser measuring scheme will also be used here as comparing,and a new type of roller-nozzle distance adjusting structure will be used here.A safety protection factor will be considered through the whole process.After the designing,producing,assembling and debugging,a trial producing was followed,and some random sampling product was submitted to the comparing inspection,during the inspection,three kinds of ribbons which are from the purposed machine,foreign import,and upcast molding machine are compared in surface quality and ribbon thickness relatively.The result shows that after the optimization,the product quality improved significantly,the technical index meet with the import product closely.This improvement not only fill the market requirement of thin ribbon product,but also can replace import at certain point,it will have great effort in support metastable amorphous alloy ribbon industry and its downstream.
