In this thesis,twelve lanthanide cyclic coordination nanoclusters in 3 series were synthesized from the reactions of 3,5-dibromosalicylaldehyde,2,3-dihydroxybenzaldehyde and o-vanillin with lanthanide salts,including?i?four 12-nuclear lanthanide cyclic coordination clusters{Ln12}?Ln=Yb?1?,Sm?2?,Ho?3?,Dy?4??bearing 3,5-dibromosalicylicaldehyde with a diameter of2.2 nm;?ii?four 14-nuclear lanthanide cyclic coordination clusters{Ln14}?Ln=Yb?5?,Nd?6?,Sm?7?,Dy?8??bearing 2,3-dihydroxybenzaldehyde with a diameter of 2.7 nm;?iii?four 42-nuclear lanthanide cyclic coordination clusters{Ln42}?Ln=Nd?9?,Yb?10?,Sm?11?,La?12??bearing o-vanillin with a diameter of 3.6 nm,which are the second highest nuclearity lanthanide cyclic coordination clusters thus far reported.The prepared lanthanide nanoclusters were characterized by UV-Vis absorption spectrum,infrared spectrum,XRD powder diffraction,thermal analysis,scanning electron microscope,elemental analysis and dynamic light scattering.The study of luminescence properties shows that upon the excitation of ligand-centered absorption bands,some nanolusters display typical luminescence of lanthanide ions.Meanwhile,the luminescent response of{Yb12},{Yb14}and{Nd42},which show strong lanthanide emissions,to anions,nitro explosives,and metal ions has been investigated.The results indicate that{Yb12},{Yb14}and{Nd42}exhibit high luminescent selectivity to CN-,2,4,6-trinitrophenol?PA?and Cd2+,respectively.
