Research On Design Of Old Furniture Based On Functionality

The process of population aging in China started late,but developed very fast.In 2002,China has entered an aging society.How to enable the growing number of elderly people to "enjoy their old age" has become an urgent problem for every family and society.Under the influence of traditional ideology and culture,the elderly in China are more willing to spend their old age in the family environment.The "home-based pension" mode is still the mainstream form of pension in modern society.In the family environment,furniture has a considerable impact on the physical behavior and psychological needs of the elderly.The functional design of old furniture aims at improving the quality of life of the elderly and ensuring the quality of life of the elderly in their later years.Firstly,this paper collects and studies the design of old furniture at home and abroad,summarizes the design results and analyses the existing problems.Secondly,this paper investigates the current situation of furniture market for the elderly,and analyses the design requirements of furniture products from the two aspects of physiological needs and psychological demands of the elderly.By means of questionnaires and household survey,this paper studies the family structure and the use of space furniture of the elderly under the mode of home-based pension,and analyses the current situation and existing problems.Summarize the design requirements of furniture size,function and layout,and analyze the necessity of furniture mobility in different use environments from the perspective of flexibility of furniture use;analyze the convenience of diversity to the life of the elderly from the perspective of the diversity of furniture functions,combined with thecharacteristics of inconvenience and slow response of the elderly;emphasize the emotional design of furniture,and analyze the heart of the elderly.Feeling,while satisfying the functional use,furniture should also pay attention to the improvement of the elderly's mood and increase the sense of pleasure.Finally,through the design practice,the problems encountered in the design are summarized and the functional design of the old furniture in the future is prospected.Under the background of China's entry into an aging society,this paper takes the living environment of the elderly under the mode of "home-based old-age care" as the research object,and studies the functional design of suitable old furniture to meet the unique behavioral needs of the elderly and improve their quality of life for the aged.
