With the rapid development of rubber and plastic products industry,the requirements of the experimental rubber mixing machines are getting higher and higher.Compared with other rubber mixing equipment,the open mill is more suitable for low-temperature mixing,and has the characteristics of high quality and long time.It is also an indispensable experimental equipment to debug the formula of rubber and plastic materials and scientific research in universities,scientific research institutions and factories.Nowadays,the experimental open mills manufactured in our country are in a low level of automation,poor safety performance,and adopt fixed-ratio gear transmission,which is unable to meet the diversified research and development of rubber and plastic products.Although,the mills manufactured in other countries are in high level and high automation,they are expensive.Aiming at the common problems existing in domestic experimental machines,in this paper,a small experimental open mill is developed with a high level of automation,good safety performance,a wide range of single-machine application.The main research contents are as follows:1.Analyze the mechanism of rubber mixing in the open mill.This paper mainly analyzes the working conditions of the open mill,the transverse pressure of the roller,and the influencing factors in the process of rubber mixing of the open mill,and establishes the corresponding mathematical model to provide the theoretical basis for the overall structure design of the experimental open mill.2.Develop an experimental prototype of a small open mill.The prototype is mainly composed of an independent dual drive system,a roll distance adjustment system,a safety protection system and a roll heating system.Its roller surface has high hardness and a wide range of applications.In addition,it has the functions of stepless speed change of two rollers,automatic distance adjustment and rapid separation of rollers,which improves the level of automation and safety.3.Use ANSYS Workbench finite element software to perform static simulation analysis on key contents of the experimental open mill.Through the simulation results,the deformation and stress distribution of the rollers and the front and rear columns are known,which can be used to guide the design of key contents and put forward to a correction scheme for the bending deformation of the roller.4.Use ANSYS Workbench finite element software to perform steady-state thermal simulation analysis of the new heating mode of the roller.Based on the comparative analysis of the heating effect of the single-stage and three-stage resistance heating tubes,a reasonable heating method for the roller is selected.5.Perform the contrast experiment of the roller surface temperature and the rubber mixing experiment with the experimental prototype.The contrast experiment verified the heating effect of three-stage resistance heating tubes is better than that of single-stage.The experiment of PVC plasticizing is proved that the prototype can be used in the mixing process of rubber and plastic.Through the torque experiment,the correctness of the theoretical analysis is verified.The experimental small open mill developed in this paper has high automation and safety performance,and provides a cost-effective rubber refining experiment equipment for the development of new rubber and plastic product formulations and scientific research.
