Ionic liquids(ILs)are a type of cation/anion pairs with melting temperature below 100?.They have attracted much attention due to their unique properties, such as negligible vapor pressure, high conductivity, high thermal and chemical stability, good aqueous solubility, and a wide electrochemical stability window.Poly(ionic liquid)s(PILs)are polymerized ILs that containing a polymeric backbone and an IL species in monomer repeating units,A novel multifunctional IL-based gel is designed and synthesized via one-pot polymerization The gels show the excellent self-healing capacity due to electrostatic interaction between anions and cations.Combining the advantages of ionic gels with electronic devices, the gels have shown widely potential applications in lithium-ion battery, supercapacitor and electronic skin. The main research work is summed as the follows:(1)Design and synthesis of self-healing gel based on imidazolium-type ionic liquid.Firstly,a conductive and stretchable ionic gel with good self-healing ability was successfully prepared. The imidazoium type IL with di-hydroxyl group serving as bridged linkage, and provided reversible dynamic covalent bonds and electrostatic interaction with anions in the gel.We further demonstrated the conductive ionic gel could be applied in lithium-sulfur battery because of the existence of sulfonate anions which could alleviate the migration of electronegative polysulfide.(2)Self-healing double network gel based on ionic liquid for zinc-ion supercapacitor.Firstly,a conductive double network gel with self-healing capacity was synthesized. The first crosslinking network was introduced by coordination interaction between pyridine group and zinc ion.The secondary crosslinking network was formed via co-polymerization between ZIW and AM.The interlocking structure was formed by imidazolium cations and sulfonate anions among polymer chains, providing electrostatic interaction.Coordination and electrostatic interaction endow gels with self-healing ability. In addition, the network gel was applied in zinc-ion hybrid supercapacitor, which showed excellent self-healing capacity and electrochemical properties. We believe that the supercapacitor will offer a new platform for developing of smart self-healing devices.
