Wound dressing is a kind of heavy usage medical articles which becomes hazardous medical waste after use.The huge amount of hazardous wound dressing waste leads to a burden to the treatment departments and environmental protection in China.Therefore,the wound dressing with long service life would reduce the usage amount of wound dressings from the source,it would help to reducing waste emissions and improving economic benefits.As an intelligent polymer material,the self-healing hydrogel was able to repair its network structure spontaneously after suffer from external damage.Choline amino acid ionic liquid(Cho-AA ILs)was a new type of biological ionic liquid which was mainly composed of choline cations and amino acid anions.Cho-AA ILs was not only inheritance the advantages of traditional ionic liquids,such as high stability,good electrical conductivity,but also has significant antibacterial properties and great biocompatibility.The main content of this paper was to prepared a self-healing polyionic liquid(VILs)hydrogel with long service life,good biocotibility and significant antibacterial properties.The infrared spectroscopy,elemental analysis,scanning electron microscopy,tensile test,antibacterial property test and hemolytic test was carry out to evaluate the chemical structure,internal morphology,mechanical properties,self-healing properties and antimicrobial properties of VILs hydrogel.The prepared hydrophobic self-healing VILs hydrogel exhibited great mechanical properties,self-healing ability and electrical conductivity.This makes it potentially useful in biosensors and flexible conductive materials.The metal-coordinated self-healing VILs hydrogel displayed excellent antimicrobial properties on E.coli and S.aureus.The result shows that the VILs hydrogel could be applied to wound dressings to reduce the risk of bacterial infections in patients.Besides,the self-healing properties of the VILs hydrogel prolong its service life,which can relieve the pressure of wound dressing waste on the environment.
