The heating temperature of slab is one of the critical process parameters in hot rolling process.On the one hand,the slab heating temperature affects the uniformity of austenite and solution of alloy in the slab,thereby affecting the performance of the final product.On the other hand,the heating temperature of slab in the furnace has a significant impact on the metal loss caused by oxidation.The metal loss on the heating temperature conditions at 1300? is three times as compared with metal loss at 1150? condition,and the metal loss has a parabolic relationship with heating temperature.In addition,the hither heating temperature also affects the production rhythm of the whole production line,the slab need to be cooled to the temperature to meet the demand of rolling,and it also has a negative impact on the surface oxide scale of the slab.Based on these reasons,the heating temperature should be controlled properly in a reasonable range.Compared with other similar production line at home and abroad,the heating temperature of slab is much higher in Shougang Jingtang strip hot rolling product.With the stabilization of the strip hot rolling production technology and the condition of equipment,we have the basic conditions for optimizing the heating temperature.How to ensure the product performance stability,reduce the metal loss of slab in the furnace,improve production yield and rhythm,release of production line capacity and solve some surface quality problems caused by the temperature by the way of optimize the heating temperature matching hot rolling technology is a great significant job.Based on these reasons,a series of researches have been done on the plain carbon steel.Considering all the experiments and feedback from the users regarding the performance of the product,the heating temperatures of several steel grades have been decreased,such as 380CL,510L,SPHC,and Q345,in the meanwhile exploited some hot rolling technologies,including the technology of furnace heating process optimization,stabilizing during rough rolling process under the condition of low heating temperature,controlling the speed of the laminar flow strip cooling by finishing rolling speed.Many works have been done to meet the demand of the production line and users.These works have already reduced the metal loss of slab in the furnace,improved the production yield and rhythm,and also decreased the defect on the surface quality of the product,not only bring significant economic benefits,but also enhance the reputation of our product.
