Epoxy resin has excellent properties such as good insulation,good corrosion resistance and not easy to deform,which makes it favored by people in the fields of electronics and electricity,chemistry and chemical industry,aerospace and so on,but it is a flammable material with high brittleness and weak resistance to external impact,so its application in some fields is limited,so the flame retardant modification of epoxy resin has been a hot research topic at present.Carbon fiber has become one of the main composite reinforcements because of its high strength,low coefficient of thermal expansion,high temperature resistance and other excellent properties.9-10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide(DOPO)has attracted much attention in the field of flame retardant because of its high flame retardant efficiency,low toxicity and migration resistance,and is considered to be one of the most promising options to replace halogen flame retardants.In this paper,DOPO/ carbon fiber / epoxy resin composites with equal phosphorus content were prepared by using DOPO as flame retardant,chopped carbon fiber as reinforcement and epoxy resin as matrix.DOPO/ carbon fiber / epoxy resin composites with different phosphorus content were prepared by using a series of characterization methods,and the preparation method was selected to prepare DOPO/ carbon fiber / epoxy resin composites with different phosphorus content.The main characterization methods are thermogravimetric-infrared spectroscopy,cone calorimeter,high temperature oxygen index and horizontal vertical combustion test and so on.The effect of DOPO on the mechanical properties of carbon fiber / epoxy resin materials was studied by tensile test.The results show that when the phosphorus content is 1%,the sample(M1)prepared after shaking has the best comprehensive flame retardant performance,and when the DOPO addition method of M1 is adopted,the flame retardant performance of the sample is the best when the phosphorus content is 3%.The flame retardant effect of DOPO on carbon fiber/epoxy resin mainly belongs to gas phase flame retardant effect.
