In recent years,ship capsizing accidents happened frequently,which caused serious economic losses and casualties! It is difficult to ensure the navigation safety of modern ships under complex sea conditions with the current intact stability criterion.Therefore,the IMO has started the development of the Second Generation Intact Stability Criteria,which includes five stability failure modes.It fully considers the capsizing phenomenon and capsizing risk when the ship sailing in waves,which can effectively ensure the safety of ship navigation.In this paper,the dead-ship condition failure mode is taken as the research direction,the influence of the change of ship type parameters on the vulnerability and ship design are discussed.The main work is as follows:(1)This paper studies the development trend of the dead-ship condition vulnerability criteria in recent years,and summarizes its calculation principle and method.(2)There are 5 parent ships of fishing boats,fishery administration ships,container ships and Ro-Pax ship were selected.and total of 126 new ship types is produced with the help of software CAESES,which were used to calculate the dead-ship condition vulnerability of ships.(3)Based on the calculation results of the sample ship.the ship type parameters(bilge keel area,water inlet angle,vertical line length,shape width,shape depth,vertical square coefficient,longitudinal position of the floating center)and load factors(height of center of gravity,draught)which affect the ship's dead-ship condition vulnerability were studied.The influence laws of ship type parameters change on the dead-ship condition vulnerability is analyzed.(4)According to the calculation results,the sensitivity ranking of the first level and the second level of the ship type parameters on the dead-ship condition vulnerability is obtained,some measures and suggestions can be put forward to improve the dead-ship condition vulnerability,which provides technical basis for the new ship design.
