China,as the hometown of tea,boasts a long history of tea.The continuous development of society makes the cultural nature of tea itself increasingly discovered and used,and gradually develops into a spiritual materialized product,with cultural significance including aesthetic value and historical value.The prosperity and development of tea culture has promoted the development of tea sales and tea packaging,while the latter,as a carrier to beautify products and convey information,has gradually developed into a new fashion to guide consumption and lifestyle.Culture of Chinese characters represents the carrier of information transmission,which not only reflects the function of information orientation,but also is the concrete expression of visual aesthetics.In addition to the directivity of literal meaning,Chinese characters in tea packaging design also have the cultural function of shaping packaging aesthetic feeling,packaging style and packaging aesthetics.While assuming the function of storing tea information,the visual language exploration of Chinese character design on tea packaging performance also has the dual attributes of art and commerce,and plays an irreplaceable role in tea packaging design.In this paper,based on the packaging design practice of Maojian teas in Xinyang,the visual language analysis of Chinese character design in tea packaging design is derived from the theory of tea packaging and Chinese character design,and the aesthetic feeling of Chinese character design in tea packaging is discussed from the aspects of design features,design performance and design impact.Secondly,the scope of study was further advanced to explore the visual expression of Chinese characters in tea packaging,the design significance of Chinese characters,as well as the design principles of Chinese characters.And based on the investigation and analysis of tea packaging in the market,the trend of Chinese character design in tea packaging is explained.Finally,the design insights and strategies for Xinyang Maojian tea packaging design plan were proposed and implemented,aiming at strengthening its own product characteristics and highlighting the competitiveness of brand packaging in the commercial market.
