Design And Research Of Liannan Paiyao Embroidery Pattern In Modern Men's Casual Wear

Pai-yao is one of the very representative national minority of Guangdong.They got the name "Pai-yao" because of the overlapping of residential houses in the deep mountains of northern Guangdong.The embroidery on the pai-yao costumes is also distinctive.In 2009,Liannan Pai-yao embroidery craft was included in the third batch of provincial intangible heritage list,which is very important for the protection,transmission and promotion of intangible heritage culture.Pai-yao embroidery patterns are very rich and closely related to the social changes,lifestyle and living environment of the area.The embroiderer does not need to make a template or design a sketch and it is embroidered from back side and looked from the front side.This design pattern is handed down from generation to generation by oral notes.The color of the pattern retains the traditional five colors.Now the design categories are more than a few dozen kinds,According to different combinations,the designs are divided into single flower,double flower and combination of patterns.The composition of the design is basically a single pattern,continuous pattern,and typical suitable performance.In addition to its practical and decorative functions,the Pai-yao embroidery pattern also serves as a cultural language and a record of transmission,expressing the personality and spiritual pursuit of Pai-yao embroidery culture.The unique regional style of Liannan Pai-yao embroidery pattern and its deep cultural connotation are of great research value.This thesis investigates the artistic characteristics of Pai-yao embroidery patterns in Liannan.It takes the perseverance and innovation of Pai-yao costume culture as the starting point and explores the design application of patterns in modern casual male costumes to further demonstrate the importance of Pai Yao embroidery patterns in the modern costume design practice.This paper starts with a five-part study of the design research of Liannan Pai-yao embroidery on modern menswear.In the first part of the introduction,a brief description of the sources of the topic is given,followed by a detailed discussion of the research purpose and significance of the paper and the research methods used with an introduction of the content of the paper and the framework of the paper.Finally,an elaboration of the innovative points of the paper.The second part introduces the overview of the evolution of Liannan Pai-yao costume.Firstly,it outlines the origin of Lienan Pai Yao embroidery art and the process of development and evolution.Secondly,it summarizes and analyzes the current situation.Finally,it briefly analyzes the cultural attributes of the pattern.The third part of article studies and analyzes the embroidery patterns in the artistic characteristics of Liannan Pai-yao costume;it introduces the embroidery technique of Liannan Pai-yao and summarizes the composition,color characteristics,and modeling themes of the embroidery patterns of Liannan Pai-yao.And then it analyzes the application of the patterns in daily wear and folk dress.The fourth part introduces the innovative design of modern casual menswear with Liannan Pai-yao embroidery pattern.It collects and classifies the existing national brands of menswear at home and abroad and summarizes and analyzes them;explores the design research of Liannan Pai-yao embroidery pattern in menswear through the existing national brands.And this part conducts a concrete analysis by giving examples of mature brands with national elements.It also try to explore from the perspective of innovative strategy and branding to comprehensively promote the aesthetic and design application of Liannan embroidery pattern in modern menswear brands.Finally,in order to support the content of this thesis,this part uses the design concept of Lienan Pai-yao embroidery pattern in casual men's wear to design a series of cases of the embroidery pattern in modern casual men's wear.The fifth part of article draws the conclusions with a summary of the paper.This project combines the theory and practice of Liannan Pai-yao embroidery pattern,and explores the essence of the pattern into the design application of modern menswear products.With the development of the times and new aesthetic interests in the change,the preservation of the essence of the Pai-yao pattern provides a source of inspiration and valuable information for its application in modern clothing design.What's more,in passing on and promoting traditional Chinese culture,it is a worthwhile research to make Pai-yao culture innovative and develop in the process of enculturation.Hope this culture can create unique regional culture and menswear products that meet the aesthetic needs of modern society.
