In this paper,by comparing the performance of the horizontal cyclone and the powder separator in the particle classification effect and energy consumption,the feasibility of the horizontal cyclone as an external powder sorting equipment is studied.Firstly,the semi-industrial grinding test platform was used to carry out the test,adjust the air volume of the fan and rotor speed of the powder separator,analyze the variation rule of its effect on particle classification,and collect the data of power consumption under each working condition for analysis.The analysis shows that: when the air volume is small and the speed of the powder separator is large,the collecting capacity of the powder separator for coarse and fine particles becomes larger,while the air volume is large and the speed of the powder separator is small,on the contrary.There is a linear relationship between the speed of the separator and the current of the separator,and a quadratic relationship between the radial wind speed and the current of the fan at the grading ring.Secondly,a horizontal cold model test platform was built to carry out the test.By adjusting the operating conditions such as horizontal barrel inlet wind speed and solid-gas ratio,as well as the structural parameters such as the length of the vertical barrel and the length of the horizontal barrel,the variation rules of particle separation efficiency under different working conditions were analyzed,as well as the influence rules of the working conditions on the structural resistance loss.According to the analysis,the smaller the air volume,the larger the inlet wind speed,the smaller the solid-gas ratio,the smaller the barrel diameter,and the smaller the length of the barrel,the better the particle grading effect of the experimental group,and the better the screening effect of fine particles.However,larger particles were also brought into the finished products,and the cutting particle size became larger and the finished particle size became thicker.The mathematical model of horizontal cylinder classification process was obtained by MATLAB fitting.This model can be in the known horizontal cylinder structure size and inlet conditions,predicting the fractionation efficiency of different diameter,namely calculate the particle classification under the condition of the separation efficiency curve.Finally,the feasibility of horizontal cyclone as an external pre-classification device was analyzed by analyzing the difference of particle classification effect between the two devices.
