In this dissertation,co-precipitation method was adopted to synthesize hydrotalcite?LDHs?.X-ray diffractometer?XRD?,Fourier transform infrared spectrometer?FT-IR?,thermogravimetric analyzer?TG?,field emission scanning electron microscope?FESEM?were used to characterize the as-prepared different samples of LDHs.The synthetic LDHs and different kinds of flame retardants were added to ABS resin to prepare ABS composites and the mechanical and flame retardant properties were tested to investigate the influence of different flame retardant systems on the performance of ABS.The main conclusions of the experiment are as follows:Magnesium aluminum hydrotalcite?MgAl-LDHs?was prepared by coprecipitation method and then modified by sodium oleate to prepare magnesium aluminum hydrotalcite modified by sodium oleate?MgAl-O-LDHs?.The effects of different reaction conditions on the preparation and modification were investigated.The experimental results showed that the optimal preparation conditions for MgAl-LDHs were:resultant temperature T=60?,p H=12,molar ratio of metal ions Mg:Al=3:1.The optimal modification conditions of MgAl-O-LDHs were:the addition amount of sodium oleate was 4%,the modification time t=120min,and the modification temperature t=60?.The prepared MgAl-LDHs and MgAl-O-LDHs were characterized by XRD,FT-IR,TG and FESEM.The experimental results showed that the addition of sodium oleate did not change the structure of MgAl-LDHs while MgAl-O-LDHs has better thermal stability and dispersion than that of MgAl-LDHs.MgAl-LDHs and MgAl-O-LDHs were added into ABS to prepare ABS composites and their properties were tested.The experimental results showed that the flame retardant and mechanical properties of MgAl-O-LDHs/ABS composites were better than that of MgAl-LDHs/ABS composites.MgAl-O-LDHs was compounded respectively with zinc borate?ZB?,ammonium polyphosphate?APP?,silicon dioxide?Si O2?,melamine?MEL?,antimony trioxide?Sb2O3?and other flame retardants to investigate the synergistic effect of different substance on the flame retardance of MgAl-O-LDHs/ABS.The results showed that MEL was the best synergistic flame retardant for MgAl-O-LDHs.When MgAl-O-LDHs:MEL=3:1,the LOI of the ABS composite reached a maximum of 25.2%and passed the V-1 level of UL-94 combustion test.Zinc aluminum hydrotalcite?ZnAl-LDHs?was prepared by co-precipitation method.Sb2O3was added to the LDHs synthetic slurry to synthesize Sb2O3-LDHs and then it was combined with tetrabromobisphenol A?TBBPA?to investigate the influence of Sb2O3content and the ratio of Sb2O3to TBBPA on the performance of ABS.The experimental results showed that when Sb2O3:LDH=15:100 and Sb2O3:TBBPA=1:6,the LOI of ABS composite material can reach 29.6%and pass the V-0 level of UL-94combustion test.
