In the field of 3D modeling,scientific visualization technology has been used more and more widely.The visualization of spatial data is called Volume Visualization,which has become a basic technology in many scientific fields.The description of various phenomena,such as clouds,water flows,molecular structures,and biological structures,has great application prospects.This article first introduces the concept of digital cores in tight oil reservoirs,introduces digital stereo technology to the modeling of digital cores,and illustrates the types of digital core modeling,then analyze the 3D visualization technology and its 3D modeling methods,including surface-based rendering and volume-based rendering.This article focuses on the digital core modeling based on the surface rendering method,and mainly studies the application of the classic traditional algorithm-Marching Cubes(MC)algorithm in the 3D modeling method in the digital core modeling.In order to obtain the rapid prototyping file of the core,first CT scan the collected dense sandstone core to obtain a two-dimensional CT sequence image.Then,by obtaining an appropriate threshold,the CT image is expanded and compressed based on the morphological method to remove the image.And the preprocessing operations such as layered grayscale and background cutting.The interpolation operation in Marching Cubes algorithm is simplified,so that the calculation amount of the triangle vertex coordinates and normal vector component value is greatly reduced.The improved MC algorithm performs 3D reconstruction on the preprocessed image to generate 3D models and STL files.At the same time,the improved volume rendering algorithm-Ray Casting algorithm is used for 3D reconstruction.The experimental results show that the improved MC algorithm can improve the efficiency of 3D modeling,and the reconstructed model also maintains a relatively high accuracy.
