Supramolecular host compound play significant roles in the birth and development of supramolecular chemistry.therefore,design and synthesis of nove supramolecular host can also open a new chapter for the sustainable development of supramolecular chemistry.macrocyclic molecules such as Pillararenes a class of supramolecular host molecules are featured by two aromatic and identical pincers and a more or less rigid tether,which exhibit special and fascinating host-guest properties in recent years.As an important field of supramolecular chemistry,host-guest chemistry has been attracting more and more attention.Molecular assembly is a very good application in host-guest chemistry.It is defined as a reversible process built on molecular level accompanied by special nature with the change of the ambient conditions.It has played a prominent role in areas of environmental analysis,microscopy techniques and so on.In this dissertation,we designed and prepared a novel supramolecular host based on naphthalene and some guests,and studied their host-guest chemistry with the different guest.(1)To design and exploit novel supramolecular host synthetic receptors is a permanent and challenging topic in supramolecular chemistry.Hitherto,most of the supramolecular host are based on mono-benzene and mono-heterocycle units.We attempted to design a novel supramolecular host based naphthalene unit.Luckly,we found the synthesis,structures,and molecular binding behavior of a new family of acyclic supramolecular host compounds 1a?1b?1c,which are made up of 2,3-diethoxynaphthalene units linked by methylene bridges at the ?-positions.Owing to 1c tubular-shaped electron-rich cavity,as well as acyclic spiral structures,numerous host-guest systems have ben developed on the basis of 1c.(2)The host-guest chemistry of supramolecular host 1c was then investigated.Due to their ?-electron rich characteristics,a series of organic cationic molecules and neutral ?-electron deficient molecules are chosen as guests.We found that a highly effective self-assembly in chloroform of [2] pseudorotaxane,composed of 1c and the cationic guests.N,N,N-trimethyl-1-naphthalene methylamine salt 3-BAr F and N,N,N-trimethyl-1-naphthaene methylamine salt 4-BAr F exhibit the largest binding constants with 1c.Suggesting that 3-BAr F and 4-BAr F are excellent matches,in size and shape,with 1c's cavity.This is the first report about the novel supramolecular host compound naphthalene-based and its properties.
