With the consumption of petroleum resources,shallow petroleum resources have been gradually exhausted,so exploitation of oil resources in deeper hard and complex layer has significant value.However,existing oil drillings have characteristics of slow speed,long period,high cost and quick loss of bit.Therefore,developing appropriate drilling method for drilling petroleum resources in deeper hard and complex layer is of great value.Particle impact drill is a new drilling methods which bases on water jet drilling and abrasive jet drilling.By adding steel particles to the drilling fluid,PID has a high penetrating efficiency on the basis of conventional rotary drilling and mechanical rock broking.PID bit,particle controlling and injecting devices all have great influences.In this study,PID bit is taken as the research object and we design eight kinds of PID bit structures.Through numerical simulation and laboratory experiments,we established hydraulic model of the PID bit and mathematical model of the bottom hole flow field and optimized parameters of the PID bit.Finally we give the optimal structure and hydraulic parameters of PID bit for hard layer drilling.Experience in the study will provide help for particle impact drilling.
