With the deepening of economic globalization and international division of labor, the producer services trade has achieved rapid development. In the low-carbon economy,as an intermediate input to production, the producer services contain advanced elements such as technology, information and human capital. The development of the producer services can help to promote the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure, increase the added value of products, and reduce the fossils consumption during economic development.Thereby, the producer services trade promote a country's carbon productivity and achieve healthy and sustainable economic development. Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to study in depth the impact of producer services trade on carbon productivity.Firstly, based on scale effect and technical effect, the paper analyzes the mechanism of the impact of producer services trade on carbon productivity. And then it proposes that under the low-carbon economy, the development of producer services trade will havepositive scale effect through resource reconfiguration effects, efficiency improvement effects and environment regulatory effects, and the positive technical effect through demonstration effects, industrial correlation effects, the effects of competition and economies of scale, and then help to promote a country's carbon productivity.Secondly, the empirical results of the impact of producer services trade on carbon productivity indicate that,in general, producer services trade can promote carbon productivity through scale effect and technical effect, and the former is more significant than the latter.Comparing developing and developed countries, all the estimated results are significant except that the impact of the import of producer services on carbon productivity through technical effect is not significant in developing countries. Moreover, developed countries have greater impact on carbon productivity through scale effect, while developing countries have greater technical effect. From the perspective of sub-sectors,five sectors can increase their carbon productivity through scale effect and technical effect, but there are differences in the significance and influence degree of the regression coefficient, which are closely related with the essential attributes of the sectors and the size of the trade.
