The cutting edge treatment technology can change the cutting edge contour and remove the micro-defects in the cutting edge area,and improve the reliability,service life and surface quality of the cutting tool.In the precision cutting and manufacturing industry,the cutting edge treatment technology of carbide integral milling tool mainly includes micro-sandblasting,brushing-polishing?diamond abrasive paste?,towing polishing,water jet,magnet polishing and so on.In this paper,Four-edged end milling cutter and Two-edged ball milling cutter are taken as research objects,and the drag grinding and polishing machine is used to process the cutting edge of the tool,and the influence of different cutting edge treatment time on the cutting edge quality is analyzed.The cutting performance of the milling tool is experimentally studied,and the wear and tear of the cutting edge,the breaking of the cutting edge and the grinding of the back face of the end teeth with 10 different cutting edges are explored.The influence law of cutting performance such as loss.?1?The characterization parameters of cutting edge processing quality are defined.This paper uses three-dimensional automatic zoom measuring instrument?Infinite Focus?to quantitatively detect the edge profile,the microscopic morphology of the edge,cutting edge quality parameters such as tool surface morphology and tool size accuracy.?2?The tool edge is processed by a towed grinding and polishing machine.The effects of different edge treatments on the characterization parameters such as edge profile,tool edge sawtooth and surface morphology are analyzed.The experimental results show that the tool edge profile increases rapidly with the processing time and then tends to be stable.the tool edge sawtooth is quantified by roughness.The degree Ra increases first and then decreases with the treatment time,and finally stabilizes between Ra 0.3-0.4 um.The cutting edge surface defects are improved by the cutting edge treatment process.?3?The milling experiments of Four-edged end milling cutter and Two-edged ball milling cutter with different edge treatment quality were carried out.The results show that compared with other edge treatment schemes,the edge treatment scheme plan8 can obtain smaller edge wear,reduce the edge gap and the wear of the end-tooth flank,improve the tool life,and improve the cutting performance of the milling cutter.This research has important theoretical guiding significance for improving the cutting edge strength,cutting stability and tool life of milling cutters,and has important practical significance and value for optimizing the processing parameters of the cutting edge surface of milling cutters.
