Brewery wastewater is non-toxic and harmful medium-high concentration organic wastewater. It has a large amount of water,a deep color,a high CODCr value,a large change in pH value and a high concentration of organic matter. The treatment of beer wastewater has become a hot research topic.Reducing its COD is an important treatment goal.In this paper, biochar was prepared from corn straw and walnut shell by adsorption method. The structure characteristics of biochar were characterized and analyzed by different modifiers. The effects of different factors on reducing COD in beer wastewater were discussed. The adsorption characteristics were analyzed.Orthogonal test was used to optimize the adsorption conditions and the effect of regeneration adsorption was also studied. The results are as follows:With corn straw as raw material, the optimum carbonization temperature is 550?,the carbonization time is 2 h,and the carbon yield is 25.7%.The removal rate of COD by KOH composite modification can reach 56.21%.The surface of the modified biochar is rougher, the pore structure is more developed,it contains a large number of functional groups, and the crystallinity of the fibers is higher through the characterization of scanning electron microscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction pattern. The results of adsorption test showed that the optimum technological parameters of adsorption treatment were:pH=7,dosage of 0.06g,adsorption time of 120 min, reaction temperature of 35?,COD removal rate of67.91%.The degree of influence of four factors on adsorption efficiency is reaction temperature>dosage>adsorption time>pH.The adsorption kinetics is more in line with the quasi-second-order kinetic model and the adsorption isotherm is more in line with the Langmuir isotherm.Recycling can still adsorb beer wastewater better. With walnut shell straw as raw material, the optimum carbonization temperature was 550?,carbonization time was 2 h,and the yield of carbon was 25.5%.The removal rate of COD reached 72.59%after modification with FeCl3 and HCl.The modified biochar was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction patterns. It was found that the modified biochar had abundant pore structure,a large number of folds,a large number of functional groups and a higher crystallinity of fibers. The results of adsorption test showed that the optimum technological parameters of adsorption treatment were:pH=7,dosage of 0.06g,adsorption time of 120 min, reaction temperature of 35?,COD removal rate of 79.8%.The degree of influence of four factors on adsorption effect is adsorption temperature>pH>adsorption time>dosage.Adsorption kinetics is more in line with quasi-second-order kinetics model and adsorption isotherm is more in line with Langmuir isotherm. The wastewater from beer production can still be well adsorbed and treated by recycling. The two kinds of biochar have the effect of reducing COD of brewery wastewater, and the adsorption effect is better after modification. It shows that the two kinds of modified biochar have the ability of adsorbing COD of brewery wastewater and belong to economic and efficient adsorbent.
