As an efficient and clean energy source, nuclear power plays an important role in maintaining stable supply of energy and ensuring the stable development of society. At present, the location of nuclear power plant in China is mainly at the seaside.Numerically simulating the impact of liquid discharges from nuclear power plant on the sea area is one of the methods to evaluate the safety of nuclear power. It is especially important for popularizing public cognition and promoting nuclear power construction.A model of two-dimensional tidal wave equations system was established based on fluid mechanics and a matrix format of numerical solution for two-dimensional tidal wave equations was constructed by Chebyshev spectral method. The model and the program were verified by the water wave motion caused by the water column perturbation in the square water pool. Then, the numerical simulation of the tidal field in the Yangjiang sea area was carried out.The numerical results consistent with the measured values were obtained and the error of the model was discussed. In this paper,Lagrange particle random walk model was applied to simulate the diffusion of radioactive liquid effluent from Yangjiang Nuclear Power Plants to nearby sea area based on tidal wave simulation and the measured wind field data in the region. The spatial distribution and concentration trend of radionuclides with time were presented, and the environmental impact of radioactive liquid effluent from Yangjiang Nuclear Power Plants on the sea area was preliminarily evaluated. Some opinions was proposed to provide information for further accurate and efficient simulation of tidal field motion and related studies of nuclides in the flow field.
