Illustrative Study On Ecological Design Manners For Ecological Restoration Of Urban Rivers

The research is based on the following one practical issue and two disciplinary issues.(1)Entering a mature period of steady development in the early 20 th century,urbanization has brought about the achievements of construction,while it also leads to many drawbacks,including ecological problems of urban rivers.Therefore,with urbanization unavoidable,how to effectively and easily deal with ecological problems of urban rivers has become a major factor in promoting the sustainable development of urban rivers.(2)Landscape architecture,a discipline of planning,designing,protecting,constructing and managing natural and artificial outdoor environment,has sprung up in the late 1930 s.The core task of landscape architecture is to protect and create high-quality outdoor space,and the fundamental mission of landscape architecture is to coordinate the relationship between human and nature.Thus,how to effectively restore and protect the natural outdoor environment humankind lives in with spatial designs has become a necessary factor in promoting the harmonious development of human and nature.(3)Landscape ecology is a combination of modern landscape architecture and modern ecology.While the essence of modern landscape architecture is spatial planning and design,modern ecology is a written ecological language.Consequently,the problem of how to translate a written ecological language into spatial planning and design has become a vital factor in promoting the in-depth development of landscape ecology.Based on the above three points,aiming at being simple and effective on the ecological design manners of ecological restoration and translating ecological principles from a written language to a spatial one,the illustrative study on ecological design manners for ecological restoration of urban rivers is proposed.The paper is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,including raising research questions,defining research objects,clarifying research purposes,sorting out literature reviews,indicating research methods,and summarizing research contents.The second chapter is an elaborate part of the basic theories of ecological design manners,ecological restoration of urban rivers and case study.The third chapter is the part in which the system of design goals for ecological restoration of urban rivers is established.In the fourth chapter,the ecological design manners for ecological restoration of urban rivers are selected.In the fifth chapter,the ecological design manners for ecological restoration of urban rivers are illustrated and summarized.The sixth chapter is the conclusion in which the ecological design manners for ecological restoration of urban rivers proposed above are briefly summarized and good prospects for those manners can be seen.By carrying out the illustrative study through relatively rigorous steps with the method of the in-depth analysis of typical cases and the supplements and verification from analyzing multiple cases,30 comparatively comprehensive ecological design manners for ecological restoration of urban rivers are ultimately selected in this research,providing guidance for related researches.
