With the advent of the 5G era,the most significant feature of information transmission in electronic equipment systems is high-speed high-frequency,which makes printed circuit boards not only need to have a higher degree of integration,but also have a greater capacity of data transmission.Therefore,the research of high-frequency high-speed printed circuit boards have become a hotspot in the field of printed circuit boards.Correspondingly,the research and development of high-frequency resin materials has gradually shifted from traditional epoxy resins to hydrocarbon resins.Generally,the common hydrocarbon resin systems in copper clad plates are:polyisoprene system,1,2-polybutanediene system,ethylene-propylene diene copolymerization system,etc.,the most typical of which is 1,2-polybutanediene system.At present,most of the mainstream high-frequency products realized by the use of hydrocarbon resin materials are developed and produced by foreign companies,yet few studies on the hydrocarbon resin for CCL in our country.In this paper,three kinds of hydrocarbon resins are selected: polybutadiene(PB),styrene-butadiene-styrene(SBS),and ethylene-propylene diene rubber(EPDM),the PB/SBS/EPDM ternary blends prepared by solution blending method.the effects of different types of EPDM and content of 1,4-bis-tert-butylperoxyisopropylbenzene(BIPB)on the properties of ternary blends have been studied.The main contents and conclusions are as follows:1.EPDM of different brands were blended with PB and SBS to prepare PB/SBS/EPDM ternary blends.The curing reaction of system was studied by DSC.The crosslinking density,mechanical properties,water absorption,thermal stability and dielectric properties of ternary blends were tested and studied.The results show that compared to EPDM containing dicyclopentadiene(DCPD)as the third monomer,when EPDM containing 5-ethylidene-2-norbornene(ENB)as the third monomer,the ternary blends have higher crosslinking density,better mechanical properties,greater thermal stability,and lower water absorption,dielectric constant and dielectric loss;When EPDM containing 5-ethylidene-2-norbornene(ENB)as the third monomer,with the increase of ENB content,the crosslinking density of the ternary blend increases,tensilestrength increases,elongation at break decreases,water absorption decreases,and thermal stability increases,and dielectric constant and dielectric loss decrease.The PB/SBS/EPDM-3 ternary blend containing EPDM with ENB content of 9.5% has the best comprehensive performance.2.EPDM of different brands were blended with PB and SBS,and the amount of BIPB was changed to prepare PB/SBS/EPDM ternary blend.The curing reaction of system was studied by DSC.The crosslinking density,mechanical properties,water absorption,thermal stability,dielectric properties and FT-IR of ternary blends were tested and studied.The results show that with the amount of BIPB increases,the crosslinking density of the ternary blend increases,water absorption decreases,thermal stability increases,and the dielectric constant and dielectric loss decrease.At the same time,when the amount of BIPB is increased to 3.4 phr,the effect of the content and type of the third monomer in EPDM on the dielectric properties of the ternary blend decreases.The FT-IR of the ternary blend can explain this phenomenon.
