In this paper,styrene-butadiene rubber(SBR),methyl methacrylate(MMA),styrene(ST)and acrylonitrile(AN)are used as raw materials.Then,using paraxylene(PX)and ethylbenzene(EB)as diluents,dodecyl mercaptan(TDDM)as molecular weight regulator,and di-tert-butyl peroxide(DTBP)as initiator.A large-phase-area high-flow transparent ABS resin was prepared by bulk polymerization method.The size of the rubber particles is about 1?2 ?m,the transmittance is 88.6 %,the haze value is 1.9 %,the notched impact strength is 164 J/m,and the melt index is 80.95 g/10 min.Transmission electron microscope(TEM)and dynamic mechanical analyzer(DMA)were used to analyze the microstructure and compatibility of the prepared transparent ABS resin.The influence of MMA content,ST/AN ratio of monomer,compound solvent ratio,initiator concentration,molecular weight regulator dosage,kinetic and thermodynamic factors on both were studied.The experiments show that the transparent ABS resin with excellent performance can be prepared by adjusting the experimental parameters to control the two-phase compatibility and the rubber particle microstructure.In summary,the size of the rubber particles is large and the distribution is bimodal,the morphology is well-organized and ordered,and the density is high,the solid rubber particles,the sub-inclusion structure of the branched network skeleton,and the good compatibility of the two phases are all good for the toughening of the transparent ABS resin.The effects of various factors on the optical properties,mechanical properties and processing flow properties of transparent ABS resin were studied.The experimental results show that the MMA content is the decisive factor for the optical performance of the transparent ABS resin.The ratio of monomer,compound solvent,and molecular weight regulator also have certain effects on the optical performance.The mechanical properties mainly depend on the microstructure and two-phase compatibility of the transparent ABS resin.The factor that has a greater influence on the processing flow performance is the resin phase viscosity.Among them,the styrene content and the amount of molecular weight regulator have a significant effect on the flow properties.
