Study On Costume Design Method And Corresponding Application Based On Sustainable Development Idea

Under the current social background,high consumption and rapid economy affect and complement with each other while the unsustainable consumption concept and development model of textile economy have caused serious waste of resources and environmental pollution.According to the prediction of the UN,if the global population reaches to 8.5 billion by 2030,the costume consumption quantity will explode from 62 million tons to 0.102 billion tons,which means increasing resource consumption,labor force input and pollutant discharge.As the largest costume consumption and manufacturing country in the whole world,China plays an important role in the sustainable development of fashion.Besides,fashion industry has become the world’s second largest pollution industry,and costume designers will become one of the most potential groups to change the current high pollution status.Therefore,it is particularly important to conduct research on the application of costume design method based on sustainable development idea.Firstly,based on the sustainable development idea from theoretical perspective,the scientific connotation of sustainable development idea is explained deeply from four aspects of the society,economy,ecology and development by the means of literature collection and analysis,and the sustainable costume design idea is combed based on this.Secondly,the similarities and differences between sustainable clothing and common clothing are compared to summarize the design concept of sustainable clothing,the comparative research method of domestic and overseas cases is used to summarize the design method applicable to solve the problems in different stages of fashion industry chain from a systematic and overall perspective.Meanwhile,the specific application of sustainable clothing design method in the elements of clothing construction is explored based on subject experiment teaching and industry-university-research practice projects.Finally,the current status and existing problems of China’s sustainable fashion education and corresponding solutions are analyzed from the aspects of cognition degree,theoretical research and course teaching feedback.It is hoped to establish the sustainable clothing design concept by the means of education and realize systematic application of the sustainable clothing design method.This research aims at providing theoretical framework for designers in sustainable costume design from perspectives of thought,direction and method,penetrating the method into the whole fashion industry chain to specify the problems needing to be solved,and making design more targeted and effective.
