With the rapid development of the steelmaking industry and smelting technology,more and more of the electric arc furnace equipment put into production and the capacity is increasing,followed by generating a lot of interference on the power quality of the power grid,such as the impact of the active and reactive power fluctuation,the voltage fluctuation and flicker,three-phase unbalance and other harmful factors,these disturbances often exceed national standards and cause serious harms for power grid,associated with related electrical equipment and steel enterprises for their own security and economic operation.Therefore,to solve the problem of power quality is of great significance to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the power system,this paper based on Cangzhou Dudley's Industrial Park of SVC renovation object,and study the harmonic characteristics and the impact of the electric arc furnace for power quality,lastly propose governance scheme for improving power quality.At first,through analyzing the characteristics of harmonic analysis methods in electric arc furnace and understanding the differences of them;and use the energy conservation principle to establish a simulation model of the electric arc furnace,and then use PSO to parameter identification,based on the simulation model to analyze the characteristics of harmonics and inter-harmonics,then establish a harmonic source transfer model to understand the meaning of the harmonic amplification fully and analyze the related harmonic problems of PCC.Finally,the field measurement data were compared with simulation and theoretical calculation results,and electric arc furnace is studied on the influence of utility grid's power quality index,in view of Dudley's arc furnace system proposed SVC control scheme,and the device for determining the preliminary design and installation position,the filter branch related question has carried on the simulation analysis,and lastly evaluate the functions of the SVC access system.Through the simulation verified the feasibility of the design of SVC governance scheme,and achieved the expected results.Due to the electric arc furnace into operation when conditions are more complex,it needs to install power quality monitoring instrument for real-time observation,if it is found that far exceeded the power quality indicators,will be ready to adjust the compensation scheme in order to ensure the security and stability of the entire power system operation.
