Stability problem has been the cold-formed thin-walled steel research important topic.This article uses the method of combining the experiment and theory,aiming to design application,having systematically research in case of the stability behavior about the column of Box housing.Study the buckling modes,failure modes and ultimate bearing capacity of Box housing.And providing reliable theoretical support and guidance for the designing of Cold-Form thin-walled column.At present,our study on local and Euler(i.e.,flexural or flexural-torsional)bucking of Cold-form Thin-wall steel has been more mature.Compared with the local and Euler buckling,the time of study on distortional bucking is shorter.This article calculate the steady performance of the Cold-form Thin-walled column based on the Direct Strength Method.With this method,the first step is to calculate the elastic limit bearing capacity of each failure mode,this article will calculate the elastic limit bearing capacity by respectively using hand and Finite Strip Analysis(CUFSM),and then calculate the final failure mode and ultimate bearing capacity.At the end of the paper,this article will put forward reliable stability design method for the design of Cold-form Thin-walled column.
