In an increasingly competitive market,emotional design has become the focus of the product design field.One of the key issues of emotional design is how to obtain emotion,because the complexity and changeable of emotion,how to measure emotion is becoming the focus and difficult problem of emotional design.In this paper,the humidifier pictures are chosen as the experiment objects,the emotional measurement methods in humidifiers appearance are combining the subjective questionnaire method with objective ERP experimental method.The main contents are as follows:(1)The selection of representative humidifier pictures.This paper collects a large number of humidifier pictures through the internet,magazines,books and other ways,then applies the similarity grouping questionnaire results to construct the distance matrix,uses multidimensional scaling analysis and cluster analysis to select six representative humidifier pictures.(2)The selection of representative Kansei image words.After preliminary screening of the collected Kansei image words,this paper designs the semantic differential questionnaire to obtain subjects' emotion evaluation in the appearance of the representative humidifier pictures,the collected data are used to do item analysis and factor analysis,finally extracts four representative Kansei image words and one Kansei preference words which can reflect the emotion of the representative humidifiers appearance.(3)The emotional measurement experiment in humidifiers appearance.Take the six representative humidifier pictures as experimental materials for the ERP experiment,take six representative humidifier pictures and four representative Kansei image words and one Kansei preference words as the subjective emotional measurement questionnaire items.Combining the ERP data with the subjective emotional measurement in the humidifiers appearance questionnaire data,this paper obtains the changes of the subjects' brain potentials when they watch different humidifier pictures.(4)The extraction of the EEG indexes.This paper extracts the EEG indexes which have the significant correlations with the emotion according to the changes of the subjects brain potentials to reflect different emotion evoked by different humidifier pictures.These indexes are the N1 component of the prefrontal and central area in the 80?120ms window,the N2 component of the frontal/central area in the 200?250ms window,the N2 component of the parietal/occipital area in the 250?290ms window,the LPP component of the frontal and central area in the 400?600ms window.The semantic differential method(SD method)is widely used to measure the emotion in the physical products appearance.This paper applies the event-related potentials method and subjective method to measure the emotion of the humidifiers' appearance.The experimental data are more accurate and comprehensive.This method expands the physical products appearance emotional measurement methods.Extract the EEG indexes which can reflect users' emotion through event-related potentials method.It provides a feasible method to obtain emotion in emotional design.
