Articulated tracked vehicle is a kind of cross-country vehicle which is made up of the front and back car through the articulated mechanism.It’s full name is all terrain articulated tracked vehicle.It is a tracked vehicle with larger ground area as well as an articulated device containing a steering hydraulic cylinder and a pitching hydraulic cylinder.So it has high passage capacity.It can travel on many complex terrain and special pavement such as snow,Gobi,swamp,forests and mountains.It is also able to obstacle crossing,climbing,cross the trenches and can even float on the river.It is a waterway amphibious vehicle,which has been widely used now.In this paper,the development of articulated caterpillar car at home and abroad is introduced,and the purpose and significance of the study on the walking mechanism of the articulated caterpillar car are described in detail.After introducing the composition of walking mechanism,the driving principle,kinematics and dynamics of articulated tracked vehicle,and the relationship between caterpillar and ground are studied.Finally,the calculation formula of the physical quantity of the tractive force,the driving resistance and the actual speed of a tracked vehicle are gained.Based on the RecurDyn software,the first is the establishment of walking system model of the articulated tracked vehicle.And then the car body,articulated mechanism and simplified model of suspension set up in Pro/E software are introduced into RecurDyn to be assembled with the walking system model.NEXT establish the corresponding constraint,spring,add quality property to complete the simulation model of articulated caterpillar car.After that,do the simulation research on three typical working conditions of 0.7m high wall,climbing 30 degree slope and crossing 1.8m trench for articulated caterpillar car.Finally,the force distribution of the load wheel is analyzed and The maximum torque of the driving wheel,the maximum tensioning force of the crawler and the vertical pressure of the crawler frame under the load wheel are extracted.In this paper,firstly,import the three dimensional simplified model built in Pro/E software of the driving wheel and the crawler skeleton of articulated tracked vehicle into Hyper Mesh for geometric processing,grid division,adding element properties,adding material properties and applying constraints and loads to finally complete the establishment of one finite element model of the driving wheel under one dangerous working condition and three finite element models of the crawler skeleton under three dangerous working conditions.Then,through the analysis and calculation in the ANSYS software,the distribution of the stress and displacement of the driving wheel and the crawler skeleton is obtained.So while validating the strength and stiffness of the structure,the analysis results provide a reliable reference for the optimization of the structure,in the meantime it can be used to shorten the development cycle,and provide reference for the analysis and research of the series of vehicles.
