Static Synchronous Compensator(STATCOM)is an important component of Flexible AC Transmission System(FACTS),it is the reactive power compensation current which can be dynamic continuously adjusted by injected into the power system direction and amplitude to maintain the stability of device access point bus voltage.Therefore,the control problem of STATCOM is concerned by the majority of scholars.At present,the design of the STATCOM controller is always the hot issue in the field of STATCOM technology research.In this paper,a sliding mode variable structure control scheme is proposed for the STATCOM system,and the simulation platform of the STATCOM is designed based on DSP 2812.The main work of this paper is as follows:(1)The causes and the effects of reactive power compensation device are elaborated,and the background and significance of the research on the reactive power compensation device and its development and research status are briefly introduced,the research status of the control method of the STATCOM and the sliding mode variable structure control algorithm are emphatically introduced.(2)Analysis of voltage and current-two STATCOM main circuit architectures,the voltage-STATCOM state-space model is established.Considering the model time-varying coefficients of the differential equations,by Park transformation,the time-varying differential equations transformed constant coefficients differential equations are converted to give the STATCOM system model.(3)Design of the control system for STATCOM,Proposed the STATCOM control system is divided into inner and outer loop control systems.The sliding mode controller is designed for the inner loop control system,and the PI controller is designed for the outer loop control system.The controller designed for applications by using the power system simulation tool Simscape in Matlab.The simulation results show that the proposed controller has better dynamic performance and the STATCOM is more ideal for reactive power compensation.(4)The hardware circuit of the STATCOM experiment system is designed.It includes acquisition circuit,drive circuit,protection circuit and power supply circuit.The main functions of each part are introduced,the selection and performance parameters of the main components are described in detail,and the hardware circuit of the experimental platform is built.(5)The software part of the STATCOM experiment system is designed.Using the modular programming,the main program,the AD sampling subroutine,data processing subroutine and the subroutines generated by SVPWM pulse and the protection program are designed.The function of each subroutine is analyzed,and the flow chart of the program is given.Finally,the full text is concluded,and proposes the direction of further research.
