Automobile claw pole alternator has small volume and low cost,and can generate electricity effectively in the wide speed range,and is widely used in the automobile industry.In order to meet the demand of vehicle running and charging,the stator winding of claw pole alternator is usually designed with low voltage and high current,and thus it has strong armature reaction.If the design of magnetic circuit is unreasonable,the load performance of claw pole alternator will be seriously affected because of large higher harmonic.-Therefore,it is particularly important to analyze and study the distribution of magnetic field in various operating conditions.Using the finite element calculation software Ansoft Maxwell 3D to analysis and calculation has practical significance,so that the automobile claw pole alternator has a good load characteristic and high efficiency by optimizing design of the magnetic circuit structure and selecting reasonable electromagnetic parameters.Rotor structure of the alternator makes magnetic field three-dimensional distribution complexly.The performance is both affected by the claw pole structure of rotor and the armature reaction seriously,so it is difficult to complete the design separately by magnetic circuit method.In this paper,the design scheme is preliminarily determined by the magnetic circuit method.Then software Ansoft Maxwel 3D begins three-dimensional modeling and finite element calculation,which provides selection parameters for optimzing design of the claw pole alternator by calculating load characteristics and optimizing the operation performance.The design and research of the 2.1 kW electric exciting automotive claw pole alternator is carried out in this paper.Firstly,the structural characteristics,operation principle and mathematical model of the automotive claw pole alternator are analyzed.The selection and the advantages of each electromagnetic parameter are analyzed fromthe magnetic circuit design,which provides the theoretical basis for the design of the automotive claw pole alternator by writing program of magnetic circuit calculation and verifying the electromagnetic design again and again.Calculate internal electromagnetic field of three dimensional model which is set up according to the magnetic circuit design scheme,obtaining the magnetic circuit characteristic,the main electromagnetic parameters,the steady state performance,the efficiency and so on,and determine the final design by comparing the result of magnetic circuit method and finite element calculation.Analyse and Research the operating principle of the external rectifier circuit and voltage regulator,and the corresponding operating characteristics are obtained by simulating.actual operating conditions that the operation system of claw pole alternator is built with voltage regulator and rectifier circuit in software Simplorer.The influence of structure parameters on the magnetic flux leakage is studied,and the neural network genetic algorithm is used to optimize the structure,which provides reference for the optimal design of claw pole alternator.Finally,the prototype is manufactured according to the design scheme and calculation results,and electromagnetic parameters and performance are tested.The accuracy and feasibility of the analysis and design method are verified by comparing the test results with the calculation.
