As a result of the special structure of claw pole, the magnetic field and temperature field of claw pole generator have the three-dimensional character obviously. The performance parameter must be calculated by three dimensional computational method. With the development of calculation technology,, there are much research on the numerical calculation of temperature field about rotor, stator on the large-scale generator. in recent years, but the research on the numerical calculation of temperature field about automobile generator is blankness nearly.Based on the calculation of leakage magnetic and temperature field , this paper, optimal several claw-pole generator, and put them into industry. The design idea is: carriing out the preliminary design of claw-pole generator firstly, calculating magnetic flux leakage, optimizing the stator outer diameter, effective length of stator core, stator slot radius, diameter of the stator, rotor diameter, rotor core diameter and the thickness of the roots of claw-pole ,and, optimizing the excitation frame, stator, rotor, claw-pole after the temperature field calculation. The optimized products have been industrial production tested by Anhui Institute of Product Quality Supervision, testing result and user trial show that the product is superior to the general automobile generator. The specific content of the paper is summarized as follows:(1)Aim at the goal of increasing the power/weight (W / Kg) , this paper establish the rated speed, the main dimensions, structure of automobile claw-pole generator in series design, and derive the optimal value 0.618 of excitation planes in diameter ratio,. This study is signality for the automotive design and optimization on the preliminary design of claw-pole alternator.(2)Analyzing the influence of claw-pole generator structure parameters on magnetic flux leakage coefficient, calculating no-load magnetic flux leakage coefficient with different parameters of 500W, 750W claw-pole generators using three-dimensional magnetic vector potential finite element method, the parameters include the stator outer diameter, effective length of stator core, stator slot radius, diameter of the stator, rotor diameter, rotor claw-pole core diameter and the thickness of the roots. The results show that the reasonable of the original design parameters(3)Analysing the basic ideas, advantages, disadvantages, and the solution process of computational fluid dynamics based on finite volume method, according to the basic theory of computational fluid dynamics, this paper introduce the required equations and general equations in temperature field numerical simulation inside the generator, analysis the central difference and other discrete form, flow field calculation algorithm and discrete equation solution methods, and so on. Which provide the basis of numerical simulation for temperature field inside generator.(4) Based on the above theory, the physical model and the mathematical model of test example ( 14V/500W generator) is established, the temperature distributions in rated load operating mode of claw pole and revolution axis are calculated considering the influence of exciting winding's copper loss, the claw pole vorticity. ,(5) One more test example is a generator of 14V /500W, which physical model and mathematical model are established. The temperature distribution of stator and winding in the rated load operating condition is computed considering the aeolotropy of stator, the coupling condition of stator iron core and winding, the exciting winding's copper loss, stator iron loss, the influence of rotational field, stator volume processing of iron core and winding ,and so on., .(6) The whole three dimensional temperature field of JFWB15C3-B generator in the rated load operating condition is calculated by grid plot. The temperature distribution of the key part are compared with the actual measure distribution, the result show that the physical and mathematical model are correct.In the instructional of theoretical analysis and compution, several kinds of automobile generators are put into industrial manufacture.Finally, the paper set forth the development trend of automobile generator.
