Since the 21st century, the world economy has developed at a rapid pace and the wealth of human society has been increasing. While pursuing peace and development,it is hard to avoid the attacks of terrorism, which poses a great threat to the safety of society and people's lives and property. At the same time, natural disasters have occurred frequently in the world in recent years. The secondary disasters that they bring also have a huge impact on people's lives and property safety.Due to the influence of these factors, the impact resistance and protection of structures and components are increasingly concerned by scholars and engineering designers at home and abroad. And due to the partial damage of the components, the bearing capacity is insufficient so that the structure continuously collapses, making people pay more attention to components' impact resistance. In addition, with the continuous growth of the population in our country, arable lands are decreasing, which has been a contradiction. How to rationally use land resources has become an important challenge in China. On this condition, domestic urban planning has gradually shifted to mountainous regions, and the development of mountainous buildings has saved the use of arable land resources, which has become the mainstream of development. However, mountainous buildings will face more natural disasters such as mudslides and rolling stones. Therefore, the impact resistance of building structures and components has a positive guiding significance to the design and construction of mountainous buildings. In this paper,a drop hammer impact test is carried out on four groups of reinforced concrete column specimens with different axial compression ratios and two different slenderness ratios using a simple drop-weight impact device designed by ourselves. The cross section of the column and the vicinity of the bearings are acquired. The strains of the steel bars and concrete in the section, and the displacements in the column and the acceleration response of the test piece under impact are analyzed. The damage mechanism of the reinforced concrete column under lateral impact is analyzed and the ratio of axial compression ratio and slenderness ratio are analyzed.influences.In this paper,a high-level nonlinear finite element analysis software ABAQUS was used to simulate the dynamic response of the test specimen under impact. And studied the effect of axial compression ratio and slenderness ratio on the impact resistance of reinforced concrete columns under impact loading. In view of the damage of reinforced concrete columns under lateral impact, this article proposes the use of polyurethane coatings and carbon fiber cloth protection and reinforcement methods for the construction of reinforced concrete columns, and the drop hammer impact test, the test results and unprotected the test pieces were compared, and the finite element model was established to compare the calculations. It was concluded that these two methods have greatly improved the impact resistance of reinforced concrete columns. In this paper, the reinforced concrete columns under lateral impact were analyzed through tests and finite element analysis. The conclusions obtained provide a certain reference for the analysis and protection of structures under impact loads.
