Acoustic Study Of The Stormproof Playgrounds Of Elementary Schools In The Reconstruction Of Shanty Area Of Qingdao

Guided by President Xi's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics and responding to the call of implementing the spirit of the 19 th National Congress of CP C,Qingdao Municipal Government is committed to strengthening compulsory educati on and promoting the reform on basic education levels.Besides,Qingdao Municipal Government has continuously increased the investment in school facilities,including t he construction of stormproof playgrounds in elementary schools.Stormproof playground is a multi-function school building,making it possible not only for students to have sports activities and theatrical performances under unfavorable weathers,but also for teachers to have meetings and school authorities to give speeches.However,many problems have exposed in the daily use of stormproof playgrounds,with the acoustic problems most serious.The causes of these problems can be generalized as follows:Firstly,due to their young age and immature psychology,elementary school students do not have strong self-control and tend to talk and tumble in class,thus bringing trouble to the teaching of their PE teachers.Secondly,the interior decoration of many stormproof playgrounds is very simple and few of them have professional acoustic design,therefore the reverberation time is prolonged and the clarity of voice is decreased.The situation usually becomes worse when amplifier is used.Thirdly,school authorities used to have little awareness about the acoustic design of stormproof playgrounds,which leads to the frequent occurrence of problems.Now that many schools have realized the seriousness of the problems,how to put stormproof playgrounds into proper use is becoming an urgent issue to be solved.In this paper,after a thorough study of related materials both domestic and abroad,the researcher first introduced the developmental history and future tendency of stormproof playgrounds.Then,based on the indoor acoustics theories,the researcher conducted her research by taking as samples the stormproof playgrounds ofWangbu Elementary School and Zaoshan Elementary School in Licang District,Qingdao.Through field investigating and in-site measuring,the researcher analyzed the defects in the acoustic design of the two stormproof playgrounds and proposed renovation plans.After the reconstruction work was completed,a further in-site test has proved that the previous problems have been solved and the two renovated stormproof playgrounds are able to achieve their multiple functions,making it possible for students to have PE classes,physical trainings,sports games,conferences,recreational activities and theatrical performances,etc.This research will provide practical instructions to the acoustic renovation of elementary school stormproof playgrounds.
